George Hawkins was born in Farnham, Surrey.
After spending his early in Farnham he then moved to Sussex and eventually to Faversham, Kent.
On leaving school, he spent two years at Canterbury College of Art studying engraving and graphic design.
After some years in other employment. George continued with his passion for drawing and painting part time until in 1983 when he decided to paint full time.
With a love of painting Kentish scenes, mainly in oils and watercolour,
his work has always been in great demand with original paintings a continuing range of Limited Edition prints, and Greetings cards has adding to his growing reputation.
Many of his paintings are in private collections both in this country and abroad.
Married with a son and daughter he continues to live and work from Faversham.
